Empowering the Young

It starts from the bottom

Adolescent empowerment is meant to give adolescents the power and responsibility to take charge of their lives. It aims at teaching them life-skills to assess their everyday situations and take the right decisions. This will help them survive in today’s crazy world.

So how can adolescents be empowered?

Educating them, not just day to day schooling – but on what life is about, is key. If they are equipped with basic skills, they can form a plan for themselves. With the right knowledge, they can improve and get better jobs. Good jobs mean more money and easier support for their families. This not just benefits the individuals, but their families, their society as well as the economical state of their country.

If adolescents are encouraged to take an actual interest, they will be able to understand the situation better. As adults, they can vote and participate in the political affairs of the country, understand their finances and have financial stability and be able to strive for excellence in all fields. To be able to make the right decisions they need to be diligent. Their ability to manage various issues will be more effective. If they have a goal, and the determination and support to achieve it, they won’t stray.

An important factor in criminal tendencies in adolescents is a lack of ambition. They feel they are worthless and completely give up. By teaching them to take control of their lives, they can follow their dreams and more importantly have an objective in life. They will utilize the resources available to them and maximize profits from it.

With the growth of technology, digitization and Artificial Intelligence, many people worry about unemployment. If the youth is empowered, they can create new jobs for themselves. They can use their fresh ideas and personal opinions to develop new opportunities for themselves. Thus, an empowered youth has the capability and determination to build a future for themselves.
